It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the Belgrade Food International Conference that will be held in Belgrade, Serbia on 26st to 28th of November 2012.

The main theme of the conference is:

Food, health and well being


The venue of the Conference is at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, Studentski trg 16, Belgrade, Serbia. Participants interested in giving an oral or a poster presentation should indicate it in the registration form, and follow the instructions for abstracts, both included on separate sheets. The deadline for abstract submission and travel grant application (open for young researchers and PhD students) has been extended until 29th of September 2012. The main topics are:

In addition, a special postgraduate course: Horizon in Life Sciences will be organized during the conference: Topics: Structural biology of proteins and tRNAs, miRNA biology and applications. Attendants of the postgraduate course will be given a certificate.

As for the first and second workshop within the FCUB ERA project, travel grants will be provided to young researchers. Information on the travel grants will be sent to applicants by 5th of October 2012. The grant will cover travel (up to 500 EUR) and accommodation in a hotel (four nights). In addition, the best poster presentations of young scientists will be awarded.

An inaugural food chemistry devoted issue of the Journal of the Serbian Chemical Society, an open-access journal of the Serbian Chemical Society (http://www.shd.org.rs/JSCS/), will publish selected original articles and mini-reviews. The deadline for submission of full-length articles will be 15th of September 2012. All submitted articles will undergo peer-review process, according to the standards of the JSCS.
